There is a continued threat of afternoon thunderstorms producing localized heavy rainfall and subsequent flash flooding on recent burn scars today and each day through the upcoming work week. The highest flash flood threat will focus over the Hermit`s Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar today. Storm coverage does trend downward today and Monday compared to our most active days late last week. Storm motions will be slow overall, but still drifting northward through western and south-central NM and west to east off the northern mountains. Storm motions will be the slowest and most erratic in directions Tuesday and Wednesday as the upper high slides more directly over NM. Temperatures rise each day through Wednesday as well, however humidity recoveries will be good to excellent each night. Prevailing westerlies begin to make a return Thursday and Friday.
