...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL ROOSEVELT AND SOUTH
CENTRAL CURRY COUNTIES THROUGH 645 PM MDT...
At 610 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 10 miles west of Portales, moving northeast at 10 to
15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Portales, Saint Vrain, Oasis State Park, and Floyd.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibilities below one quarter mile at times.
