...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN MCKINLEY AND WESTERN
SAN JUAN COUNTIES THROUGH 230 PM MDT...

At 156 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles east of Red Rock to near Yah-Ta-Hey.
Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Shiprock, Nakaibito, Navajo, Sheep Springs, Brimhall Nizhoni,
Sanostee, Tse Bonito, Burnham, Newcomb, and Toadlena.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on highways as storms move through the area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM MDT for
northwestern and west central New Mexico.
