...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM MDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN DE BACA AND NORTH CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTIES...
At 404 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 21 miles northwest
of Elkins, or 36 miles north of Roswell, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of Southeastern De Baca and North Central
Chaves Counties.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
