A storm system centered west of the region will to provide for a
chance for showers and thunderstorms today, mainly focused east river.
A few storms could turn strong to severe across far northeast South
Dakota and west central Minnesota this afternoon into this evening.
Very warm temps and gusty winds will persist with much drier air
working into central South Dakota this afternoon. This will elevate
fire weather conditions mainly west river this afternoon into early
this evening. Dry conditions will spill over into Thursday but
increasing rain chances will return as early as late Friday into the
start of the weekend.

Highs today will top out in the 80s. Lows tonight will fall back into
the upper 50s to mid 60s. Highs on Thursday will warm into the upper
70s to low 80s.
