...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN COLUMBIA COUNTY
THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 637 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Kinderhook, or 7 miles northwest of Chatham, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Chatham, Valatie, Austerlitz, Kinderhook, Stuyvesant, Niverville,
Stuyvesant Falls, Chatham Center, New Concord, East Chatham, Red
Rock, Valatie Colony, Arnolds Mill, Sunnyside, New Britain, Old
Chatham, Rock City, Moorhouse Corner, Poolsburg, and Spencertown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
