...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Cedar River at Charles City affecting Floyd County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO TUESDAY
EVENING...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Cedar River at Charles City.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, East of 700 Riverside Drive is under
  water. The public parking lot south of City Hall begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 7.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this afternoon to a crest of 22.5 feet early tomorrow
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    22.8 feet on 07/21/1999.
