The rest of the area was clear to partly cloudy. Temperatures were mainly 45 to 55 with wind under 15 mph, expect for eastern Montana where speeds were running 15 to 25 mph ahead of a low pressure trough. Winds will be increasing across Saskatchewan and the Dakotas today, along with increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe over eastern Montana, and the western Dakotas, this afternoon and evening. In addition to the hail and wind threats from some of the storms, heavy downpours of rain will also be possible. High temperatures today, for the most part, in the 70s. Storms will decrease in intensity this evening as they move east across Manitoba and the eastern Dakotas, and into Minnesota. Most areas will be rain free on Tuesday, except Minnesota. The warmest day this week looks to be Wednesday with temperatures mainly in the 80s, and with some lower 90s in South Dakota. Once we get past this wet and stormy Monday, the next chance for rain will be Wednesday night. After that it looks like it could be quite wet going into next weekend. $$ JP Martin
