An EF1 in northern Cherokee County impacting the Johnnies Creek area. A second EF1 tornado was confirmed in northern Randolph County near County Rd 51 and County Rd 27. Specific details will be provided later. At this time, there are no additional suspected tornadoes from this severe weather event. Widespread straight-line wind damage occurred across portions of Hale, Bibb, Tuscaloosa, Shelby, Jefferson, St. Clair, Talladega, Calhoun, and Clay Counties. However, some additional survey work may be conducted in these areas to investigate the nature of the damage and to estimate wind speeds. .Overview...Severe thunderstorms moved across Central Alabama early Monday morning, May 27, 2024.
