...River Statement For The Cahaba River at Marion Junction...

.Periods of heavy rainfall is forecast to fall tonight through
Saturday. This will lead to rises on the Cahaba River at Marion
Junction. However, levels are expected to remain below established
flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor
nature.


The Cahaba River at Marion Junction.
* At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 4.1 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 36 feet.
* Forecast...The river will fall to 3.8 feet tomorrow morning. It
  will then rise to 13.2 feet by early Sunday morning then to 16.7
  feet by Monday morning. It will fall Monday night and remain below
  flood stage.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
  cattle need to be moved to higher ground. Overflow of pasture
  lands increases at stages above 20 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Friday evening, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
