Critical fire weather conditions are still anticipated to occur in parts of the urban corridor, plains, Palmer Divide, South Park, and Grand/Summit counties this afternoon through early evening. Critical fire weather conditions develop from south to north as temperatures warm and drier air and gusty winds mix down to the surface. The combination of low humidities between 10-16 percent and southwest winds produce wind gusts up to 35 mph could lead to rapid fire spread if a fire were to start. Humidities recover tonight between 45-65 percent. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday... A couple of cold front will bring cooler temperatures to the area Tuesday and Wednesday with some increase in humidity as well. By Wednesday there will be a chance of thunderstorms in the mountains. For Thursday and Friday, temperatures will begin to warm again with readings above normal by Friday. There will be a good chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms both days as well. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
