893 FNUS55 KBOU 260918 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 318 AM MDT Wed Jun 26 2024 .DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...There will be a good increase in moisture today leading to higher relative humidities. This moisture will also help fuel thunderstorm development this afternoon. The stronger storms will be capable of produce large hail, heavy rainfall, and strong out flow winds. The winds prior to thunderstorms develop will generally be light, though parts of the plains will see southeast winds to 20 mph. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday through Sunday... Scattered afternoon thunderstorms expected Thursday, with localized areas of wetting rain, most likely in the mountains and eastern plains. Becoming drier Friday into the weekend, with afternoon precipitation becoming much more isolated. Slightly breezier on Friday, which could lead to locally elevated fire weather conditions, primarily in Park County and the southern foothills. Precipitation potential will likely remain on the lower side into early next week, with heat re-building and stronger winds on Monday possibly resulting in some critical fire weather conditions. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
