.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight... With warming temperatures
expected for today, relative humidity values are expected to
decrease to the teens and lower 20s. This could bring elevated
fire weather conditions to areas in the southern portion of
Lincoln and Elbert Counties. Smoke dispersal will be good to
excellent for most of the forecast area for a few hours this
afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...Sunday will be
drier with windy conditions over the east slopes and northern
border areas, and breezy elsewhere. There will be elevated fire
weather conditions from the lower foothills across the plains,
especially near the base of the foothills. Monday and Tuesday will
be mainly dry and warm, with lighter winds. A gradual increase in
moisture is expected in areas east of the Front Range into the
later part of the week, with isolated to scattered thunderstorms.
