Above normal temperatures and dry surface conditions are expected today. Relative humidity values drop to 17-20 percent in the afternoon. Winds start out this morning out of the southwest, transition to northwest in the afternoon. Clouds increase in the afternoon with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing with increasing mid-level moisture and instability. 1-5 PM is a most likely timeframe for showers and storms; however, given the nature of the scattered coverage chances are less than 40%. Any nearby or passing thunderstorms will carry the hazard of lightning and gusty outflow winds up to 45 mph. Chance of wetting rain will be low. Transport winds out of the west. Saturday will be cooler with more moisture around. Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon with an increased chance for wetting rain. .TODAY...
