Ceilings continue to fluctuate this morning at and around the
5000-8000 ft range. This is expected to continue with a pronounced
lifting not anticipated until later tonight. The persistent cloud
coverage has kept temperatures cool across the area and winds
have become increasingly gusty a little ahead of schedule, which
are expected to keep a gusty and southerly component through the
evening at DEN/APA. The latest guidance shows potential for winds
to gust in the low 30kt range at DEN/APA. There is low probability
that a thunderstorm passes near APA this afternoon, however, with
the persistent cloud coverage and low instability, showers are
the most likely scenario, so have left out of the TAF.
With greater instability over the higher terrain this afternoon,
have put VCTS at BJC as a storm may develop over the high country
and move east across the area. There is still a chance this
doesn`t happen with the current cloud cover. Winds at BJC look to
become variable around 4Z tonight and guidance shows this
continuing through the morning. There is a chance a Denver Cyclone
develops and N/NE winds setup. Or southerly winds may be another
option. Either way, winds are expected to stay light for either
scenario.

KALS...A few rain showers will pass across the San Luis Valley
this evening, with possible briefly reduced CIGS and VIS if they
pass over the terminal. Otherwise, VFR conditions are expected
to prevail overnight into Thursday. Another round of showers and
possible thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon.
KCOS and KPUB...low CIGS and reduced VIS due to light rainfall
and areas of fog will continue overnight, dissipating late
tonight into Thursday morning. Another round of afternoon
showers and thunderstorms will be possible by Thursday

A few showers and storms have formed along the northern
Continental Divide with a few lightning strikes also noted.
Scattered to broken skies are common across much of CO and SE UT
but ceilings are between 12 to 15K feet so VFR conditions
remain in place. These clouds should lift somewhat overnight
though KTEX will likely keep some broken skies. Some showers may
develop over the San Juans as moisture continues to increase.
Slight chance for some showers for KTEX but not confident to
include in TAFs yet. Conditions will start to deteroriate
around 17 to 18Z tomorrow as convection starts firing across
much of the CWA.

will continue through much of the TAF period before periods of
MVFR ceilings/visibilities become possible with increase
SHRA/TSRA chances. Look for showers/thunderstorms to expand
eastward after 18Z, with best chances for activity along and east
of a KPGA-KPAN line. Outside of gusty/erratic winds from storms,
expect SW winds 10-20 kts gusting near 30 kts.
OUTLOOK...Friday 21/00Z through Sunday 23/00Z...Chances for
SHRA/TSRA will continue through the outlook period. As a result,
expect periods of MVFR conditions and gusty/erratic outflow winds.
Outside of showers/storms, VFR conditions will prevail and winds
will generally be S-SW 15-25 kts on Friday becoming light and

.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Mostly cloudy conditions are
likely throughout southwest Wyoming and northern Utah, with clear
conditions throughout southern Utah through the overnight and
morning. Southwest winds will gust around 25 knots from 18-03Z
throughout southern and eastern Utah. Isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms capable of gusty, erratic outflow winds are likely
for portions of southeast and east Utah from 21-06Z.

Weak high pressure and a fast southwest to northeast mid-level flow
over the area is keeping VFR conditions across western and central
WY through at least late Thursday afternoon. Dry conditions persist
across western WY, with somewhat moister air along and east of the
divide. Late this afternoon into the early evening may see some
moderate cumulus with light showers and very isolated thunder over
the northeast Absarokas as well as around Casper Mountain, though
they have a very low chance (10%) to impact KCOD and KCPR other than
some gusty outflow. Winds are light to breezy today with some gusts
reaching 20 kts. Some gusty east winds are likely across central WY
overnight. Clouds should increase Thursday morning, especially east
of the divide, as moisture increases from a disturbance over CO.
Isolated storms should develop over parts of central WY and the
northern WY mountains late in the afternoon Thursday, with showers
persisting overnight. While KRKS should see gusty SW winds during
the afternoon, gusty east winds will increase across central WY.
Localized MVFR conditions are possible from 20/22Z-21/06Z due to the
isolated thunderstorms and showers.

Concern for the 18Z TAFs will be widespread low clouds and fog
as we continue under southeast upslope flow through Thursday.
Continued trend towards lowering flight conditions for airports
east of the Laramie Range. Latest HRRR and LAMP guidance hitting
these airports pretty hard with LIFR to VLIFR conditions. WOrst
airport may be KCYS where we could see dense fog developing
tonight. Will continue to monitor and revise timing as we get
closer to the event. But right now...looking for lowering
conditions around the 03Z timeframe.

Rain showers and thunderstorm chances will be possible
throughout the evening and overnight hours, with additional
thunderstorm chances Thursday afternoon into the evening.
Showers and thunderstorms will be mostly scattered this evening,
then should see more widespread rainfall tonight across much of
the forecast area, including terminals KLBF and KVTN. Cigs will
also lower overnight bringing MVFR to IFR conditions, generally
after midnight through the morning hours, with lingering lower
cigs across northern Nebraska through the end of the forecast
period. Winds will be gusty out of the southeast Thursday around
10kts with gust of 15 to 20 kts.

MVFR ceilings are currently ongoing at KGLD along with near
MVFR ceilings at KMCK. Soundings and nearly all guidance
strongly suggest that ceilings will continue to decrease
through the period with IFR to LIFR stratus becoming the main
aviation concern through mid morning. Guidance also does show
some patchy dense fog south of the Interstate; it is possible
that it may impact the KGLD terminal but should be transient in
nature and short lived so have included VCFG for the period
where this is currently favored. More hit and miss showers may
occur overnight so will continue the VCSH. VFR conditions look
to return mid morning as drier air moves into the area again;
however wind gusts of 30-35 knots look likely during the day
Thursday.

Low clouds will bring MVFR to IFR conditions across all TAF
sites besides the LBL TAF. These low clouds should hang around
through mid morning tomorrow before burning off Adam. Mostly
clear skies are expected by tomorrow evening. Winds will
generally be from the southeast and light tonight shifting to
more of a southerly direction and increasing in speed by late
morning. Wind gusts over 20 knots will be possible tomorrow
afternoon.

Cumulus is still present across the panhandles this evening which
can still cause a few isolated light rain showers. The northern
stations of KGUY and KDHT have the higher chance of seeing further
showers this evening with KAMA having a lesser chance. However
the chances are not high enough at KDHT and KAMA to carry in the
TAFs at this time. Cloud decks should generally stay VFR but there
is a very low chance that a low level cloud deck may form from
the recycled rainfall moisture. If this occurs then it is not out
of the realm for IFR decks to form mainly and KGUY. This chance of
this is no where near certain enough to reflect in the TAF just
know that it is possible. Winds are gusty this evening but will
weaken for the overnight hours. The winds will then become gusty
again during the late morning to early afternoon hours for all
terminals.

Complex weather situation unfolding across the Land of Enchantment
early this evening with Gulf moisture pushing to nearly the
Continental Divide allowing for widely scattered coverage of
thunderstorms. KLVS highly likely (80%) to be impacted by strong
thunderstorms within the next hour which could produce large hail
and wind gusts up to 50 knots. Strong east canyon wind to impact
KABQ, KAEG, and KSAF until around 08Z, with an Airport Weather
Warning in effect for ABQ. Convective coverage should wane by
around 06-08Z, but MVFR ceilings forecast to develop along and
east of the central mountain chain with medium (50%) confidence
late tonight into early tomorrow morning. Thunderstorms expected
to re-develop around mid-day Thursday, favoring central/western
NM this time, with more lighter showers/stratiform rain further
east.
