Some spotty very light showers were observed across the area today, with observed precipitation amounts ranging from nothing to just a few hundredths of an inch. The rest of today through Tuesday will be mainly dry as high pressure centered to our east remains in place. The next chance for wetting rain will come Wednesday through Thursday. Total rainfall amounts during this time will range from a quarter to a half inch over the course of two days. Temperatures will slowly trend downward over the next several days, but generally remain above average for late September. Winds tonight will be light and variable, becoming from the southeast Tuesday at 5-10 mph with some gusts 15-20 mph. Slightly stronger gusts are expected Wednesday with winds still from the southeast but gusting from 15 to 25 mph.
