West central Washington County in central Vermont... * Until 230 PM EDT. * At 140 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Westport, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines. * Locations impacted include... Vergennes, Essex, Moriah, Westport, Elizabethtown, Monkton Ridge, Monkton, Monkton Boro, Hinesburg, St. George, Starksboro, Ferrisburg, Charlotte, Waltham, Fayston, Panton, Bolton, Richmond, Mt. Philo State Park, and Jericho. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
