Today will be a bit warmer than yesterday as temperatures warm into the 70s to lower 80s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Expect it to feel more humid as well as easterly to southeasterly winds bring a good push of Gulf of Mexico moisture into the region. This added moisture will stick around through Friday, aiding the increased chances of precipitation that exist this evening through Friday. Friday will be another warm and more humid day as temperatures warm into the 70s to lower 80s with dew points in the upper 50s to lower 60s (highest out east). Overnight lows tonight and Friday night will be back near to above normal in the upper 40s and 50s. Today`s precipitation chances remain low through much of the day, with only a few showers and thunderstorms possible by late this afternoon and evening (10-35% chance). No severe thunderstorms are expected with the activity today. This activity may continue tonight into Friday morning mainly across central and eastern areas (15-50% chance). This activity will bring cloud cover to the region Friday morning, which may limit the shower and thunderstorm potential that exists Friday afternoon and evening. Outside of the potential cloud cover impacts, diurnal instability and shear, with the passage of a shortwave aloft, will favor the shower and thunderstorm potential Friday afternoon and evening (40-75% chance). At this time, it looks like a few storms could become strong to severe in far southeastern Montana and northeastern Wyoming during the Friday afternoon and evening time frame, with the main threat being gusty winds, hail, and brief heavy rain. Chances of precipitation drop Friday night as ridging begins to build in for the weekend. Arends Saturday through Wednesday... Summer builds back into the area for the extended. Heat builds in for the weekend with mid 90s on tap for Sunday and lower 90s Monday. Probability of 100+ degrees is around 30-40% from Hardin to Forsyth and Miles City Sunday afternoon. Mid 80s to lower 90s temperatures look to continue through mid week. The next appreciable chance for precipitation arrives late Thursday into Friday. Rivers and streams have fallen considerably over the past week but still have a bit to go to get down to normal summer flows. If you head out to the rivers to cool down this weekend be sure to wear life-vests and continue to use extra caution, especially with children. Chambers && .AVIATION... VFR conditions will prevail through this evening. Isolated convection is expected late afternoon into the evening hours mainly over the eastern third of the forecast area. Brief MVFR visibilities can be expected near precipitation areas. Chambers && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMP/POPS...
