Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
145 PM EDT Mon Sep 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Chances for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms look to
remain in place across the area through mid week. A weak boundary
will approach and help be the forcing for this, along with
increased moisture. These should remain isolated given high
pressure remains dominant. Uncertainty increases by the end of the
week about the specifics of the pattern. PTC 9 is forecast to
move into the southeastern US by Thur/Fri as a hurricane, which
could bring impacts to the region. Right now, heavy rainfall and
gusty winds look to be the primary issues with that system.

Tonight: Patchy fog is unlikely outside of fog prone locations.
