Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
239 AM MDT Mon Sep 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire weather concerns this afternoon with breezy
northwest winds gusting 25-35 mph over Carbon and Albany Co across
the South Laramie Range. Downsloping off the South Laramie Range
will dry out adjacent plains in southeast WY with afternoon RHs
dropping into the upper teens. A weak cold frontal passage is
expected late this afternoon into the evening dropping
temperatures for Tuesday and lowering fire weather risk. However,
warming temperatures Wednesday and Thursday to above normal for
late September will increase fire weather concerns with little to
no precipitation expected through the remainder of the week.
