Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
308 AM MDT Wed Jun 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Lesser fire weather concerns across the area for the next few days
as low-level moisture returns. The dryline is currently pushing back
westward towards the Laramie range, and will bring good to excellent
RH recoveries to points eastward. Today`s highs will not be as hot
as the last few days, and when combined with the higher dewpoints,
RH should remain well above critical with the exception of Carbon
county valleys. Winds will shift to the southeast today, with
occasional gusts to 25 MPH expected. Scattered to numerous
thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, and this will bring a
higher chance of wetting rainfall than the last few days, especially
in the Nebraska panhandle. Thursday looks similar with a fairly
moist environment and widespread PM thunderstorms bringing locally
heavy rainfall. The weather will turn drier and breezier Friday
especially for the northern part of the forecast area.
