This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Kansas,
south central Kansas, southwest Kansas, and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a Heat Advisory in effect this afternoon for portions of
central and south central Kansas, including WaKeeney, Hays, and
points south toward Pratt and Medicine Lodge. There is also a
Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms this evening along the I-70
corridor with the main risk being 50 to 60 mph wind gusts with the
strongest storm.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Very hot temperatures will continue into Tuesday afternoon, and a
Heat Advisory is in effect for portions of southwest, west
central, and all of central and south central Kansas for forecast
heat index values of 103 to 108 degrees. There is also a Marginal
Risk of severe thunderstorms east of a Scott City to Garden City
to Meade line.

A more active strong to severe thunderstorm pattern is likely to
develop Wednesday Night lasting through the upcoming weekend.
Multiple rounds of nighttime thunderstorm activity could result in
some areas of excessive rainfall during this upcoming forecast wet
pattern.
