...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT AITKIN...NORTH CENTRAL PINE...
SOUTHWESTERN ST. LOUIS...CARLTON AND EAST CENTRAL CROW WING COUNTIES
THROUGH 345 AM CDT...

At 303 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Aitkin to 6 miles
southeast of Savanna Portage State Park to Mahtowa. Movement was
northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Cloquet, Big Sandy Lake, Hermantown, Aitkin, Scanlon, Carlton,
Mahtowa, Barnum, Floodwood, Wrenshall, McGregor, Cuyuna, Cromwell,
Kettle River, Palisade, Thomson, Brookston, Meadowlands, Tamarack,
and Libby.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 AM CDT for
north central, northeastern and east central Minnesota.
