...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN ST. LOUIS AND
NORTHWESTERN LAKE COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM CDT...

At 703 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Birch Lake, or 10 miles south of Ely, moving
northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Ely, Babbitt, Winton, Birch Lake, White Iron Lake, Fall Lake,
Greenstone Lake, Gabbro Lake, Farm Lake, Shagawa Lake, and Bear
Island Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
Minnesota.
