Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from
  Buffalo Creek near Burt to Lotts Creek near Livermore.

* WHEN...From this morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water affects portions of US 18. Water
  enters the parking lot of the shopping center north of US 18 and
  west of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.4
    feet early Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

  power dam to Lehigh.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Water reaches the bottom of the railroad
  trestle approach.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this evening and continue rising to a crest of 17.0 feet
    early Wednesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 10.5 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    16.8 feet on 06/27/2010.

  Reasoner Dam to the East Fork Des Moines River.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Flooding affects streets from S 13th Ave
  southward.
  At 14.5 feet, Water affects houses along W River Dr.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.5
    feet early Wednesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    15.4 feet on 04/14/1969. This crest would be the highest ever
    recorded at Humboldt and would surpass the crest set in 1993.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Sandbagging operations occur for
  businesses along US 18 on the west side of town in and near the
  flood plain.
  At 14.5 feet, US 18 is closed.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.1
    feet Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

  occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.1
    feet this afternoon. It will then rise to 16.8 feet early
    Tuesday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    17.7 feet on 04/12/1969. This crest would be the second
    highest crest on record and would surpass the crest set in
    1993.
