Today:

Clouds began to increase in the West overnight. At 3am, temperatures
were in the low 50s in clear areas and in the low 60s in cloudy areas.
Winds were out of the southeast up to around 5 mph. Rain will begin to
slowly make its way into western Iowa in the morning hours with a few
thunderstorms embedded.

Rain and storms will build into central Iowa through the evening hours
and will remain non-severe. Highs today will be in the upper 70s under
breezy southeast winds.

Tonight and beyond:

Showers and storms will blanket the state by tonight and remain in the
area for much of Friday, exiting Saturday morning. Low chances for
rain linger Saturday and Sunday, but the next main round of rain late
Sunday into Monday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s to start
next week.
