...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT
FOR ATCHISON...NORTHERN HOLT AND WESTERN NODAWAY COUNTIES...
At 749 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Nebraska City to 7 miles west of Craig to near
Powhattan, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Tarkio, Mound City, Rock Port, Fairfax, Burlington Junction,
Maitland, Skidmore, Craig, Graham, Clearmont, Elmo, Big Lake,
Westboro, Watson, Quitman, Fortescue, Bigelow, Corning, Phelps City,
and Brownville State Recreation Area.
This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 80 and 123.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Missouri.
