.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Friday night)

A disturbance over the eastern portion of the upper-level ridge
centered over far west Texas may allow for some thunderstorm
development over Central Texas mid to late afternoon. A few isolated
showers or storms could form over the Hill Country, northern I-35
corridor and coastal plains, with any activity ending this evening
after peak heating. Additionally, any outflow boundaries may also
kick off some isolated convection late this afternoon. Besides the
aforementioned areas, the forecast calls for continued dry weather.

Hot conditions continue today and tomorrow with a Heat Advisory in
effect through this evening for the I-35/I-37 corridor and areas
east and then again tomorrow afternoon and evening for the same
locations. Highs today and tomorrow and will be from the mid 90s to
around 103 degrees with heat indices from around 105-112 degrees.
There is another low end chance for precipitation Friday afternoon,
this time over the far eastern coastal plains, associated with a
weak inverted trough. Coverage would be isolated with most remaining
dry.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Thursday)

Slightly more stable conditions build in Saturday with temperature
trends and Heat Advisory messaging likely to be similar to that of
Friday. A weak disturbance moving west across the Bay of Campeche
could briefly lower heat indices Sunday into Monday with some inland
moving showers extending well north into South Central TX. Coverage
should be low as well as the potential for any "warnable" hazards.
The rest of the extended looks humid and stable with more heat
advisory headlines probable going into the middle of the week. Just
outside the 7 day forecast deeper onshore flow becomes possible
again, so there is some hope that we can get some more relief from
the heat and drought in the form of air-mass showers and storms.

VFR conditions are expected through the period. There is a low end
chance an isolated thunderstorm develops in Central Texas late this
afternoon near AUS, but confidence is too low to include in the TAF.
Southerly to southeasterly wind continues through the period mainly
at or below 12 knots. Gusts up to 20 knots possible at DRT through
02Z.
