Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ
823 AM MST Sun Sep 22 2024

.SYNOPSIS...Dry conditions with increasing temperatures through
the end of the week. Light and variable winds expected each day.

&&

.UPDATE...No forecast updates are needed this morning as clear
skies prevail across the northland. Some locally breezy north to
northeast winds this morning south (downwind) of the Mogollon Rim
and higher terrain, but overall a much warmer and calm day is in
store.

&&

.PREV DISCUSSION /422 AM MST/...The low pressure system that brought
showers/thunderstorms throughout much of Saturday will continue to
push eastward today. As a result, light north-northwest winds are
expected this afternoon with near normal temperatures.

Throughout this coming week, a ridge will gradually build across
portions of the western CONUS. This pattern will assist with
temperatures reaching 7-15 degrees above normal towards next
weekend. The high pressure system looks to wobble around
throughout the forecast period, so wind directions will vary but
should generally be 10 mph or less. Locally breezy locations could
see slightly higher wind speeds. Despite the afternoons remaining
on the warm side, overnight lows are still expected to reach near
freezing (or at least low 40s) for some areas across the higher
terrain.

The foreseeable future looks pretty quiet in terms of weather.
Enjoy the warm temperatures, light winds, and dry conditions while
they last!
