PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Cherokee.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Cherokee city park begins to flood on the
  south bank of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 15.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 18.2
    feet Thursday morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

  forecast.

* WHERE...Ocheyedan River near Spencer.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, Additional pasture and agricultural land
  begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:45 AM CDT Tuesday was 10.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.0
    feet just after midnight tonight. The stage should remain
    nearly steady on Wednesday, before starting to slowly fall
    Wednesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 15.6 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 15.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.6
    feet this evening. The stage should be gradually falling on
    Wednesday and through the rest of the week, falling below
    flood stage of 12.0 feet by early Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Spencer.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, city sewers in Spencer can begin to back
  up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if
  flows on the tributary creeks are also very high.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 13.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday was 13.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.5
    feet this afternoon. The stage should gradually fall the rest
    of the week, falling to around 11.8 feet by early Sunday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
