Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD
409 PM CDT Tue Sep 24 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Semi-breezy north-northwesterly winds will be decreasing into the
evening hours. Afternoon temperatures are in the lower to mid 70s,
and with relative humidity values ranging from mid 30s to upper 40s,
generally low fire danger with moderate fire danger well west of the
James River Valley will continue into the evening. Some very
isolated showers are observed in NW Iowa, with little to no
accumulations expected.

For Wednesday, light winds with temperatures in the mid 70s to lower
80s will keep fire weather conditions low, despite low RH`s in the
30 to 40 percent range. Thursday will see breezy south-southeasterly
winds set up, with temperatures in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Areas
west of I-29 may see RH`s dip below 30s, resulting in moderate fire
danger conditions. For areas with drier grasslands, elevated fire
danger conditions are possible. For areas along and east of I-29,
RH`s remain in the 30 to 40 percent range, keeping fire danger
conditions low.
