The survey team identified 4 separate tornadoes from this event: One EF-1 tornado straddling the McLennan/Falls County line east of Eddy, two EF-0 tornadoes largely within Falls County, and an EF-0 tornado that formed in far southwest Limestone County near Kosse that moved into northern Robertson County. .Eddy Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.83 miles Path Width /maximum/: 150 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 2 Start Date: 05/23/2024 Start Time: 05:27 PM CDT Start Location: 2 SSE Bruceville-Eddy / Falls County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 31.272 / -97.2285 End Date: 05/23/2024 End Time: 05:35 PM CDT End Location: 1 ENE Bruceville-Eddy / McLennan County / TX End Lat/Lon: 31.3119 / -97.2298 Survey Summary: A tornado formed southeast of Eddy, TX, just south of State Highway 7, in Falls County. The tornado moved northward, causing scattered tree damage as it crossed Highway 7. Several homes and outbuildings sustained minor structural damage as the tornado paralleled Falls County Road 436. As the tornado traveled farther northward, it just entered southeast McLennan County, and subsequently impacted a single wide mobile home located along Bruceville Lane. This mobile home was rolled multiple times, destroying the structure and resulting in minor damage to an adjacent frame built home. Two occupants were in the mobile home and sustained injuries. The tornado traveled farther north approximately half a mile, inside the limits of McLennan County, dissipating before it reached Bruceville and Interstate 35. .Central Falls County Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 18.51 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/23/2024 Start Time: 05:47 PM CDT Start Location: 5 NW Lott / Falls County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 31.2599 / -97.0928 End Date: 05/23/2024 End Time: 06:10 PM CDT End Location: 5 ENE Marlin / Falls County / TX End Lat/Lon: 31.3261 / -96.8059 Survey Summary: A tornado formed southwest of Chilton, TX, in Falls County. It moved northeast, crossing US 77 and producing scattered tree damage as it roughly paralleled State Highway 7 from near Chilton to the Brazos River bottomland southwest of Marlin. Scattered tree damage, mainly constituting the snapping of large hardwood limbs, occurred throughout Marlin and vicinity. The tornado dissipated just east of Marlin. .Reagan-Kosse Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 15.96 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/23/2024 Start Time: 06:14 PM CDT Start Location: 6 SSE Marlin / Falls County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 31.2266 / -96.8491 End Date: 05/23/2024 End Time: 06:50 PM CDT End Location: 2 E Kosse / Limestone County / TX End Lat/Lon: 31.3063 / -96.6007 Survey Summary: A second tornado formed from the same supercell that tracked across Falls, Robertson and Leon Counties. This tornado formed northwest of Reagan, just west of State Highway 6, and moved east- northeastward, producing scattered tree damage in the vicinity of Reagan. The tornado continued northeastward, roughly paralleling FM 413, eventually crossing State Highway 14 south of Kosse, just inside the southwest corner of Limestone County. Scattered tree damage occurred in and around Kosse. The tornado dissipated just past Highway 7 east of Kosse. .Limestone-Robertson Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 14.91 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/23/2024 Start Time: 07:15 PM CDT Start Location: 4 ESE Kosse / Limestone County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 31.2776 / -96.5633 End Date: 05/23/2024 End Time: 07:50 PM CDT End Location: 6 NW Marquez / Robertson County / TX End Lat/Lon: 31.2979 / -96.3377 Survey Summary: The third tornado spawned by this same supercell formed southeast of Kosse in extreme southwest Limestone County. Scattered large tree limbs were snapped along State Highway 7 as the tornado moved eastward into northern Robertson County near Willow Creek. Just west of the Trinity River, the tornado crossed north of Highway 7 and veered northward, still producing scattered tree limb damage. The tornado dissipated northeast of Round Prairie, just below Lake Limestone. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data.
