This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Primarily after midnight, isolated to perhaps scattered
thunderstorms will gradually spread into the area from northwest
to southeast, with this activity most favored within counties
north and west of the Nebraska Tri Cities. Any storms should be
of the weaker variety.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

During the daytime hours Tuesday, very isolated, spotty
thunderstorms are possible within parts of the area, but
primarily within counties south and east of the Nebraska Tri
Cities and down into north central Kansas. Severe storms appear
fairly unlikely.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring our first truly hot weather of
the year. On Wednesday afternoon, heat index values could
approach 100 degrees in various parts of both our Nebraska and
Kansas counties. Then on Thursday afternoon, parts of north
central Kansas, along with mainly Nuckolls and Thayer counties in
Nebraska are forecast to solidly reach heat index of 100 to 105.

Between late Thursday afternoon and Sunday, there are various,
on-and-off thunderstorm chances within the area, with the overall
most widespread activity currently anticipated between Friday
evening and Saturday night. It is too soon to confidently assess
any details regarding severe thunderstorm potential, but at least
a few severe storms certainly cannot be ruled out.
