A few spotty showers and an isolated thunderstorms this evening will
give way to mostly clear skies after dark...with low temperatures
falling into the upper 60s to start the day Wednesday. With nearly
cloud free skies and breezy southwesterly winds...expect
temperatures to rapidly warm across the area on Wednesday...with a a
HOT afternoon in store. Expect afternoon temperatures to climb into
the mid-upper 90s by late afternoon...marking the warmest day of the
year thus far. A weak cold front will bring slightly cooler
temperatures to Nebraska Thursday...but north central Kansas will
remain hot...with heat index values over 100 degrees expected
Thursday afternoon. This front will bring a small chance for
thunderstorms back to the area Thursday afternoon and evening...with
better and more widespread shower and thunderstorm coverage expected
to return late Friday and continue off and on through the upcoming
weekend.
