...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL GRAND COUNTY
THROUGH 430 PM MDT...

At 356 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles northwest of Moab, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and
         outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Arches National Park.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 191 in Utah between mile markers 129 and 147.
 Utah 128 between mile markers 10 and 13.
 Utah 279 between mile markers 3 and 6, and between mile markers 14
and 15.
 Utah 313 between mile markers 14 and 22.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
