...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN DOLORES AND WESTERN
MONTEZUMA COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 PM MDT...

At 1212 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 18 miles north of Aneth to near Red Valley.
Movement was northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Cahone, Towaoc, Yellow Jacket, and Hovenweep National Monument.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 160 in Colorado
between mile markers 1 and 25.
 Utah 162 between mile markers 29 and 31.
 Colorado 41 between mile markers 1 and 9.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
