...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WESTERN MONTEZUMA COUNTY THROUGH
115 PM MDT...

At 1243 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 20 miles south of Dove Creek to 8 miles southeast of
Twin Falls. Movement is east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hovenweep National Monument and Towaoc.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 491 in Colorado between mile markers 1 and 6, and
between mile markers 43 and 47.
 U.S. Highway 160 in Colorado between mile markers 1 and 29.
 Colorado 41 between mile markers 1 and 9.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
