...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN MOFFAT...
NORTHEASTERN UINTAH AND SOUTHEASTERN DAGGETT COUNTIES THROUGH 115 AM
MDT...

At 1249 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 43 miles northeast of Dinosaur to 6 miles east
of Vernal. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea to half inch size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Vernal, Naples, Maeser, Sparks, and Greystone.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 40 in Colorado near mile marker 1.
 U.S. Highway 40 in Utah between mile markers 143 and 174.
 U.S. Highway 191 in Utah between mile markers 353 and 358.
 Colorado 318 between mile markers 4 and 38.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
