Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Sunny skies prevailed on Thursday. High temperatures ranged from
the middle 80s to lower 90s, warmest at Hill City and coolest at
Burlington. At 445 AM MDT this morning, the sky was partly cloudy,
the wind was light and variable and temperatures ranged from the
lower 50s to lower 60s, coolest in northeast Colorado.

OUTLOOK... Expect warmer temperatures, dry conditions and a 10 to
20 mph southerly breeze today, with highs reaching the lower 90s
in most locations. Near critical fire weather conditions are
possible over portions of eastern Colorado, mainly in western
portions of Yuma and Kit Carson counties where relative humidity
readings will bottom out around 15 percent. An upper level low
will track eastward across the Rockies and Central Plains this
weekend, bringing cooler temperatures and widespread measurable
rainfall to most, or all, of the region.
