Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The overnight hours saw a few showers and storms move along and
north of Interstate 70 with clear skies across the rest of the
region. Temperatures as of three in the morning ranged from 45 in
Joes, Colorado to 60 in McCook, Nebraska. Winds were generally
from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph. There were a few gusts to 40
mph with the storms.

OUTLOOK... For today, a much warmer day is in store with high
temperatures in the 80`s and even low 90`s underneath sunny skies.
There will be high fire danger around East-Central Colorado this
afternoon. Severe storms will be possible generally along and east
of Highway 27 with large hail, damaging wind gusts, and a few
tornadoes possible. Tonight, a cold front is forecast to move
through the area, increasing the cloud cover and the winds. Wind
gusts will generally be around 30 to 50 mph through the night, but
there could be a few gusts to 65 mph. Lows will drop into the 40`s
and 50`s. Tomorrow, sunny skies are forecast along with cooler
temperatures in the 60`s and 70`s behind the cold front. There
could be a few showers in Eastern Colorado during the evening
hours.
