440 FNUS70 PHFO 021918 FWSHFO Spot Forecast for French Frigate Shoals - NOAA Fisheries...NOAA Fisheries National Weather Service Honolulu HI 918 AM HST Sun Jun 2 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0900 HST on June 02. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... A typical trade wind weather pattern will persist through Tuesday, with a nearly stationary surface ridge remaining north of the area. A somewhat unusual pattern for June is expected to develop thereafter, with a strong low developing northeast of the area Wednesday and Thursday. While the low will not directly impact the area, it will force the surface ridge close to, or south of, FFS, with light and variable winds prevailing from Wednesday through Sunday. While this will lead to reduced wind waves, swells from the northwest and south are expected for most of the period. The atmosphere will be stable, and not thunderstorms are expected. .TODAY...
