(Rest of Today) Issued at 909 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 Tranquil weather across the Tennessee Valley this morning, with high pressure at the in control of our sensible weather. The end result will be mostly sunny and dry conditions and an overall beautiful late May day as afternoon highs will peak in the mid to upper 80s once again. Only minor tweaks made to the forecast based on the latest obs/trends as everything remains on track. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Friday) Issued at 311 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 Upper level ridging will allow mostly dry weather (less than 10% chances of rain) to continue through the end of the work week. During this time, highs are forecast to be in the upper 70s to mid 80s with overnight lows in the 50s/60s. Skies are forecast to remain mostly sunny with the exception of some cloud cover on Wednesday into Thursday as a result of increased positive vorticity advection to our southwest. This may allow some showers to sneak into our southern counties, however, confidence in this is too low to increase PoPs above 10%. && .LONG TERM... (Friday night through Monday) Issued at 311 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 Upper level ridging moves over the Tennessee Valley and continues eastward Friday before a shortwave trough begins to influence the area from the west. This will bring increased rain chances (30% or less) that evening. Medium shower/storm chances (30-50%) stay in place through the weekend with any storms that forms capable of producing lightning, gusty winds, and small hail. High temperatures are forecast to reach the low to mid 80s with overnight lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s. && .AVIATION...
