Allen County in southeastern Kansas... * Until 215 AM CDT. * At 115 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Colony, or 9 miles north of Iola, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Iola, Humboldt, Yates Center, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Toronto, Neosho Falls, Savonburg, Elsmore, Mildred, Bassett, Batesville, Toronto Lake, Petrolia, Rose, Cross Timbers State Park, Iola Airport, and Piqua. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
