...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN NEW HANOVER AND
SOUTHEASTERN PENDER COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Cape Fear Community College North Campus, or 8 miles northwest of
Rich Inlet, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Rich Inlet, Hampstead, Topsail Beach, Cape Fear Community College
North Campus, Rocky Point, Murrayville, Topsail, Castle Hayne,
Bayshore, Scotts Hill, Ogden, Porters Neck, and Woodside.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 408 and 416.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
