At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Cape Fear Community College North Campus, or 8 miles northwest of Rich Inlet, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Rich Inlet, Hampstead, Topsail Beach, Cape Fear Community College North Campus, Rocky Point, Murrayville, Topsail, Castle Hayne, Bayshore, Scotts Hill, Ogden, Porters Neck, and Woodside.
