...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL PENDER COUNTY THROUGH 530
PM EDT...

At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Edgecomb to Burgaw.
Movement was northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Burgaw, Surf City, Topsail Beach, White Stocking, Maple Hill, Murray
Town, Ashton, Woodside, Edgecomb, St. Helena, Watha, and Pender
Memorial Hospital.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 393 and 406.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
