...HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

Hot and humid weather will prevail through Sunday over central and
southeast IL. The hottest days will be Friday and Saturday when
temperatures climb into the mid 90s, and afternoon heat index values
peak near or above 100 degrees. Less humid air arrives Sunday night
and Monday, but the tropical heat and humidity returns on Tuesday
when afternoon heat indices could reach near or above 100 degrees.

If working outside through this weekend and on Tuesday, be sure to
drink plenty of water, wear loose-fitting and light-colored
clothing, and take frequent breaks in air-conditioned locations. Be
sure to check on those most vulnerable to the heat, including
children and the elderly. Provide shade and fresh water for outdoor
pets and livestock, and check the backseat of your vehicle when
transporting children.
