Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
433 AM CDT Wed Jun 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure to the west will allow a system to dive down from
the north, bringing rain & storm chances today, some potentially
severe, this afternoon to evening. Dangerous heat is expected
today prior to storms, with humidity increasing in the 50-60%
range. Fire danger is not expected the next several days, but
fuels over the last month have become seasonably dry. High
pressure will strengthen back over the region late week into the
weekend resulting in a greater concern of heat & humidity again,
with rain & storm chances shunted for areas southeast of the
Natchez Trace. While fog is not expected to be a concern the next
several days, areas that receive rain could have potential for
patchy fog in spots. Next best chance at rain & storms will come
late weekend into early next week.
