Through 5 pm, scattered showers and isolated embedded thunderstorms
between Cape Sable and the distant eastern Straits of Florida
southeast of Marathon Humps will move to the west-northwest at
around 15 knots. Mariners encountering this activity can expect
periods of reduced visibilities in moderate to heavy downpours, wind
gusts of near 25 knots, and a few lightning strikes. On land, island
communities between Tavernier and Marathon could receive around a
tenth of an inch of rainfall.
