Through 1000 am, scattered showers with embedded isolated thunderstorms will continue to wane in coverage and intensity across the Florida Keys island chain as well as the adjacent nearshore and offshore coastal waters. Movement of this activity will be somewhat chaotic, but generally to the northwest at near 10 knots. Mariners encountering the stronger portions of this activity, mainly in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico between S Tower and T Tower, can expect bouts of blinding downpours, wind gusts up to 25 knots, and occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes. Island communities may see up to an additional tenth of an inch of rainfall. $$
