.NOW...
Through midnight, the mesoanalysis products from the Storm
Prediction Center indicate strong converging winds from the SFC
through 10 thousand feet remain across the Florida Keys. This
pattern will maintain widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms
across the Florida Keys for the next several hours. Recent trends
suggest a few less thunderstorms. Six-hour totals in Key Largo are in
the 7 to 8 inch range. However, rainfall is finally tapering off.
Meanwhile, radar imagery continues to suggest the heaviest rainfall
will continue to shift into the Lower and Middle Keys, particularly
from Sugarloaf through Marathon. An additional two to three inches of
rain is likely in this region. The movement of the discrete
thunderstorms has slowed to 10 to 15 mph, so localized gusts likely
will be limited to 30 to 35 mph. Stay tuned to NOAA weather radio for
additional warnings or statements.
